Dr Clifford Cunningham is a planetary scientist with the University of Southern Queensland. He has written seven books on asteroids, more than anyone in the world. Asteroid 4276 is named Clifford in his honour. He is Series Editor of Historical Astronomy books for Springer, and associate editor of the Journal of Astronomical History & Heritage. In 1999 he appeared on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
