The Moon passed in front of the planet Mars on Feb. 18, and the view from Tucson was spectacular in a dark pre-dawn sky. This image shows Mars emerging from the dark limb of the crescent Moon at 540am. Surface features on the Moon can be seen in this image, taken with a Sony RX100 Mark VI camera. Photo taken by Dr C.
